“Keema Children’s Foundation is dedicated to creating a better life for children who have experienced child abuse or neglect.

The research indicates that children who have experienced abuse or neglect are far more likely to experience life- long mental health issues and lower quality of life long after the abuse has stopped. Those adverse health outcomes include anxiety, depression, suicidal tendencies, relationship difficulties and even more physical illnesses. Many children abused or neglected and removed from their primary care giver as a result of abuse or neglect also experience attachment issues and of course self- blame and confusion.

The research is clear that positive experiences and supportive relationships can provide a buffer against these adverse health and life outcomes for children who have experienced abuse or neglect. Our mission is to work with children through programs like our Little Stars Kids’ Camp Program to assist them to overcome the effects of abuse and neglect. Our Little Stars Kids Camp program does this by providing positive experiences, supportive relationships and a sense of belonging which can give the children hope, increase self –esteem, belief in themselves, create lasting friendships and really change their entire life trajectory. Our Little Stars Kids’ Camp Program is a unique initiative and focuses on children as young as 4 years old.

You can be part of making a difference to the life of a child who has experienced abuse or neglect by supporting the Keema Children’s Foundation. Together, we can make a difference to our most vulnerable members of society…our children.”
